Groundbreaking & Foundation
It began with a clear vision and an open field. The foundation was poured, marking the permanent roots of our community in Wichita Falls.
Framing the Vision
Steel and wood rose to shape the double-height prayer halls and soaring trusses. The scale of our future home finally became visible.
Enclosing the Envelope
Siding, beautiful brickwork, and windows were installed, protecting the interior and giving the mosque its dignified exterior presence.
Interior Finishing
Drywall, paint, elegant staircases, and pristine wudu (ablution) areas mark the near completion of our spaces. The dream is almost realized.

This mosque is built by the community, for the community. Your generous support is what transforms these walls into a place of worship and gathering.
Remaining work and inspections before we can open our doors include bathrooms, gas connection, building final inspection, landscaping, and the certificate of occupancy.

About the Mosque
What is being built at 4817 Fairway?
A mosque, also known as a masjid, which is a place of worship for Muslims. The facility will provide a prayer hall and spaces for religious, educational, and community activities. It will serve as the new home of the Islamic Society of Wichita Falls.
Why is a new mosque being built?
The Islamic Society of Wichita Falls has maintained a mosque on Trigg Lane since approximately 1996. After many years of use, the existing facility no longer adequately meets the needs of the local Muslim community. The new facility will provide a more suitable place for worship and community activities.
Our Community
Who will use the mosque?
The mosque will serve Muslims who live in Wichita Falls and the surrounding area. Our members come from many different backgrounds and professions, including students, teachers, small-business owners, medical professionals and families.
Is the Muslim community new to Wichita Falls?
No. The Islamic Society of Wichita Falls has maintained a mosque on Trigg Lane since approximately 1996. The new facility continues the work of an established local Muslim community.
Funding and Construction
Who is paying for the mosque?
The project is privately funded by members and supporters of the Islamic Society of Wichita Falls. No public funds or government financial assistance have been used to fund construction.
Who is building the mosque?
We have made an effort to work with local tradespeople, contractors, service providers and material vendors whenever practical.
Visiting and Neighborhood Questions
Can people who are not Muslim visit the mosque?
Yes. Visitors are welcome. We plan to hold open-house events after the facility is fully operational so neighbors can see the facility, meet members of the congregation and ask questions. Information will be provided when events are scheduled.
What about parking and traffic?
We understand neighbors may have practical questions about parking, traffic and activity. The Islamic Society intends to operate the mosque responsibly and in accordance with applicable requirements. We welcome specific concerns from neighboring residents.
What about noise?
The mosque will primarily be used for worship and community activities within the facility. The Islamic Society intends to operate the property responsibly and respectfully and in accordance with applicable requirements. Neighbors can contact us with specific concerns.
